Life is Beautiful 2014

I have made the realization- I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. This past weekend was the 2nd annual Life is Beautiful festival here in Vegas, and it was amazing. Lucky for me, I was able to attend with my best friend, Cameron.

Friday night, Kanye West was the headliner. He was awesome! I didn't think I would know as many of his songs as I did, but he also played some of his old stuff like Gold Digger and Heartless. It was a really fun time, even though I'm too short to see over anyone haha.

We only went that night to see Kanye who played last, so we didn't really take too many photos unfortunately! Concerts are honestly amazing though and I wish I had the opportunity to go to more!

Saturday we skipped out on as well mainly because I have school in the morning (which I was absolutely wrecked for after staying up so late seeing Kanye) and acting classes at night. We thought about going to see Lionel Richie and Outkast, but we ended up not going.

Sunday, my fav band the Arctic Monkeys played and it was completely magical. Alex is so hot and he was like RIGHT THERE!!! It was amazing!

I tried to record as much as I could so that I was able to relive it over and over long after the festival cleared out of Downtown. I couldn't believe I was really seeing them.

In true Downtown Las Vegas fashion, there were some amazing murals and art pieces created for the festival on buildings and what not. They all rocked, but here were my 2 favorites:

If you can't tell, I love that vintage comic book vibe in art. Here's some snap's I took on Sunday night as well. Selfies for days, and we got some awesome gold foil flash tattoos courtesy of Anna Bee Jewlery (http://www.annabeejewelry.com/) She's a resident over at Stitch Factory and will be rolling out a line of these metallic temporary tattoos soon, so keep an eye on her site!

Here's Cam and I taking a cute pic while also trying to show off our metallic tattoos..... It didn't work so well ha.

Shall we move on to my outfits? Because I thought they were pretty rad.

Art in the Park with Momma

Today, my momma and I drove ALL the way out to Boulder City, a small little town right around the Hoover Dam, to attend the Art In The Park festival. Art In The Park is a yearly event where artisans and artists and hobbyists alike set up booths to display and sell their creations. There, you'll find everything from potpourri and scented salts to great Christmas ornaments and hand made fashions. My mom and I love crafty types of nick nack things, so we loved it!!! These types of things also always have really good food, so of course we indulged.

Here you can see that we ate a whole plate of deep fried potatoes that were so good and so oily and so unhealthy but no cares were given on this day. Aren't we twins?! I love my mom, she's my best friend and I had such a lovely day with her.

We passed by one of the booths and a piece of artwork really caught my eye and spoke to me. Lucky for me, they had a smaller print of it! Mom bought it for me as a Christmas gift (which means I don't get it until Christmas >:| ) but I love it and can't wait to display it in my bedroom!

Here's me with it!

Here's a closer photo (I posted this in my snap story hence the caption lol) It so is me. I love shoes!!

Alright alright, I'll get to my outfit.

Outfit Details:
Blue Floral Kimono: Nasty Gal
Black Muscle Tank Dress: H&M
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Skinny Belt: H&M
Zeal Sunnies: Zappos
Bag (that you can't really see but its the same in all posts): Gypsy Warrior

I have to take a moment really quick to appreciate and admire this awesome Kimono. It has the most lovely print on it!

Such a great year round piece to have in my wardrobe. I think it's only like $27 right now at Nasty Gal, go get one!! Totally recommended.

Having a MAGICal time!

Yes, I used that tacky pun. But as you fashionistas are well aware, MAGIC is the trade show that happens in Las Vegas twice a year and is the largest men and women's contemporary fashion trade show in the whole world. And, since I have an amazing job, I was fortunate enough to attend for free! My favorite part was WWDMagic, which is the women's showroom at the Las Vegas Convention Center venue. Honestly, that showroom is like heaven. I got my badge scanned and looked up to see nothing but booths on booths of clothes that haven't hit stores yet. I wish they all did Cash-And-Carry because wholesale prices are so much cheaper than retail prices!

I've also decided that I want to start my own online shop. I have the resources to go to these shows, but I think the hardest part of starting an online shop will be the start up costs. I need to set aside a few hundred dollars, but it's a risk I am so willing to take.

Walking along the showroom floors, I just felt so incredibly comfortable. Going up to booths that grabbed my interest, asking questions to the vendors about their products just felt so natural to me. Here are some photos from my 2 days at MAGIC:

My badge!

The Sourcing convention was seemingly endless. There were about 9 USA booths. So disappointing!! Get it together, Merica.

Fashion Snoops F/W 15/16 Trends seminar

Hanging with my homegurls on the WWD floor!

S/S 15 trends! The presenter for this seminar was the best. This was my favorite seminar I attended during the whole convention.

The Pool Trade Show floor was awesome!! Every booth was fun and lively. Surprisingly not all bathing suits though.

Walking into the FN Platform they had this clever spot for photos. Like my new white Oxfords? Shoe creds to the Goodwill on Haight St (:

1/4th of the FN Platform... All the floors were HUGE!

Awesome Denim history lesson displayed in a hallway

LVCC decked out for MAGIC

I'm sad that I was only able to attend for 2 days, because by day 3 I was ready to make a purchase for my shop-to-be! That's okay, it'll be back in Vegas in February, and I'll be ready with a domain name, a business plan, mood boards, social media, everything that I need to be ready with so that these companies take me seriously and want their items to be on my store. I have no clue what I'm going to call it or what styles I'll be selling.... But that's beside the point. All things start with an idea, and that just so happens to be the phase I'm at right now.

They had so many free resource magazines and printed information, so I grabbed all of it. I have 5 lbs of information to read in the next few months so I don't go in blind!

If you read my blog, please refer me to your friends. I want to have a huge fan base! Let's interact! Follow me on twitter and instagram, listed in the sidebar of my blog.

Leave your favorite style to wear in the comments on this post, I want to get to know my followers. (:

San Francisco!

As you may (or may not) know already, my older sister lives in San Francisco where she goes to school and works. I visited her for a week about a week ago (SORRY FOR THE LATE POST </3) But here's a bulk of my trip!
Casually posing on a dock in the Bay. Prior to this, we shopped on Haight street. Pics of my finds to come soon :)

Some random fisherman on the dock let Nikki hold the crabs he caught! It was so cool to see all the old men with their fishing poles just hanging out catching dinner. We were tempted to go to a thrift shop and buy fishing poles ourselves!

Sista love (always in my ice blue Zeal sunnies)

We walked down Market street and when we sat down by a underground bus station, the upwards view was pretty radical.

The next day we hit up China town! You always have to take a photo at the Dragon gates with these sassy statues.

After Chinatown, we were walking up to Coit tower and saw this awesome decoration. I don't even know what the building was, but it reminded me of a short film my AP Literature teacher showed us in the last few weeks of school.

Different view of all the books strung up high in the sky.

Coit tower from the bottom looking up!

My pretty sis at the top of the hill that the tower sits on

Me lookin cute on the top of the hill haha

Hey, I can see the Bay bridge from here!

I mainly took a photo of this because you're not supposed to take flash photography and also how creepy does that child look? This was inside the bottom of the Coit tower.
Coit tower from the top looking down!

Sister pics at the top of the tower

Beautiful views of the City on the Bay from the top of Coit tower

I wore high socks with cutout shoes I am a dork haha

Walking up to Coit tower was hard but walking down from it was slightly dangerous with these steep hills!

Later, we went to one of the museums observatory towers and of course I had to take a selfie haha

The next day, we went to one of Nikki's classes, and then hit the Fisherman's Warf. We, of course, got bread bowls from the Boudin bakery, walked up and down the shops there, and went on the San Francisco Dungeon Tour, which was so awesome. The actors there are really fantastic and committed and know their stuff. It was an entertaining/freaky history lesson! We also went shopping for the rest of that day to my delight. We went to Union Square, and so many of the shops there were built so long ago that I was captivated by the clothes and also the architecture.

A shot of the ceiling of one of the two Forever 21's down there

The day after that, Nikki and I holed up in her apartment and watched an entire season of America's Next Top Model. (Cycle 12 in case you were wondering) We ordered pizza and stayed in our pajamas and laid around all day. I haven't had that lazy of a day in weeks!!

Anyways, my time in San Francisco was super fun and all the food we ate was delish! Tell me what your favorite place to visit is in the comments, I think mine is San Fran after this trip!!
