Art in the Park with Momma

Today, my momma and I drove ALL the way out to Boulder City, a small little town right around the Hoover Dam, to attend the Art In The Park festival. Art In The Park is a yearly event where artisans and artists and hobbyists alike set up booths to display and sell their creations. There, you'll find everything from potpourri and scented salts to great Christmas ornaments and hand made fashions. My mom and I love crafty types of nick nack things, so we loved it!!! These types of things also always have really good food, so of course we indulged.

Here you can see that we ate a whole plate of deep fried potatoes that were so good and so oily and so unhealthy but no cares were given on this day. Aren't we twins?! I love my mom, she's my best friend and I had such a lovely day with her.

We passed by one of the booths and a piece of artwork really caught my eye and spoke to me. Lucky for me, they had a smaller print of it! Mom bought it for me as a Christmas gift (which means I don't get it until Christmas >:| ) but I love it and can't wait to display it in my bedroom!

Here's me with it!

Here's a closer photo (I posted this in my snap story hence the caption lol) It so is me. I love shoes!!

Alright alright, I'll get to my outfit.

I have to take a moment really quick to appreciate and admire this awesome Kimono. It has the most lovely print on it!

Fran's Classy Baby Shower!!

I was very excited to join my friend and coworker, Fran, in celebrating the bundle of joy she is about to bring into the world tonight!! She will be having a baby girl in the next few months. She had her baby shower at Scullery downtown and it was hella classy. Here's a photo of (almost) the whole Stitch Factory team supporting our lovely coworker!!

Fran is on the far right, next to me, in black. (: I'm so excited for her and her husband to become parents because I know that little girl is going to grow up in a home full of love! Congratulations to the new family.
Something funny that happened actually was that Jillian and Jen (the two blondes in the above photo) pointed out that Rachel, Haley and I were all matching, wearing various forms of black and white stripes!

So of COURSE we had to take an "Omg we're accidentally matching!!" photo. Before leaving, I had the hardest time picking out an outfit though. I laid two out on my bed and sent a photo of the options to 3 friends to figure out what I should wear. Here were the options:

In the end, the outfit on the right won, but I don't have a well endowed chest to be able to hold that strapless dress up because it's so loose at the top! So I ended up wearing the stripe dress (clearly haha).

Outfit details:
Striped Dress: Styles for Less
Pendant Necklace: Hand-Me-Down from my sister Nikki
Steve Madden electric blue shoes: Platos Closet

Monday, July 21st

Mondays are always super boring and dreadful (hello, waking up early after an awesome weekend? No thanks!!) so I decided to wear the newest piece in my closet to get me excited about the day. All of my outfits today (yes-more than one!) were a 70's dream! Here's what I wore:
This super amazing romper is fromUrban Outfitters by For Love and Lemons. I'm wearing an XS. Bag// Gypsy Warrior. Sunnies// Zeal.
The back has this radical slit that goes all the way to the waistline. The bottom of the shorts has a cute little ruffle too. And the sleeves are bell sleeves!! Underneath I'm wearing an Urban Outfitters bralette as well giving me that cute sky blue strap on my back.
Before I left for work I threw on this geometric gold necklace that I got from Forever 21 because my chest felt so bare  haha.
Can't forget about the shoes!!! These awesome nude colored heels are by Candies for Khols and are my go-to heel. Since they're nude, they match literally everything. Totally worth the money!! Nude strappy heels are definitely a wardrobe staple.
Romper details at the waistline. Everything about this piece is so feminine and flirty.
This evening, a bunch of my friends and I went to the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas pool for a dive in movie. If you live in Vegas I so recommend it-- only $5!! I decided to take this outing as an opportunity to wear my amazing Seafolley high waist bathing suit. The print on this is a dream and has awesome details like:
Cute little cut outs! This picture better shows the pattern as well. These cutie cutouts were along both of my hips and down the edge of the triangle top as well. This suit flatters my form so well also. Seafolley is a great swim brand! (I kept my Forever 21 necklace on as well because it matched and I felt glam haha)

A huge perk of living in Vegas:
This was the view from the rooftop pool when the sun went down. So beautiful! There is nothing like the Vegas Strip lights. I've lived here all my life and they still enchant me.

Today ended up being a really awesome Monday!

Sunday, July 20th

Today was such a fun day! Cody and I went to visit Kaylee at where she lifeguards. It was such a nice day outside and I'm so glad I took advantage of the weather and went swimming! Here's what I wore:
Whenever I go swimming, I always wear something super easy to slip in and out of and that looks okay over my bathing suit. Today I opted for this super easy to wear tank from Forever 21 and a simple pair of old shorts. The sandals I'm wearing were too loose so I kept kicking up sand :(
Of course, my sunnies are by Zeal as always.

Here was my swim look:
I am crazy about these neon pink floral bikini bottoms I got recently from Forever 21. They go well with my solid color tops, like this navy blue front closure one I got from Asos at the end of last summer. I love this top because of the awesome back:
I always get compliments on it every time I wear it!!!! Such a cute way to revamp the basic bikini top. Love love love!!

Here's some other various photos from today's excursion:
Cody and I. He doesn't like to take nice photos.
It honestly felt like Mexico! It had these awesome twisty palm trees that really gave it a tropical vibe. And just look at those clear blue skies! You couldn't have asked for a better day.

Lifeguard Kaylee on duty!

It was such a fun, chill, relaxing day that I have been looking for. Tomorrow starts the weekly grind again-- good luck with your Monday everyone!

Wednesday, July 9

Hey guys! I knew today was going to be a mundane day, so I decided to do an upgraded version on a basic T-shirt and jeans outfit. Check out what I wore:
The usual purse, the usual sunglasses. I opted for a bright pink v-neck and polka dot dark jeans.
Look at those dark, cloudy Vegas skies! :(

I dressed up the tee by wearing a gold jeweled necklace appropriate for the neckline of the shirt.

I also pulled my hair half up half down to give it a more upscale look.

And by using a jean with a pattern on it rather than your basic, everyday jean, the outfit was completed! (I always roll my jeans up in the summer too idk it just fits the weather better)

There you have it! That's my variation on the classic tee shirt and jeans outfit. By using a brightly colored top, a dressy necklace, a nice hairdo and a unique pair of jeans, you can also take this and make it your own.

Let me know your favorite way to style a basic tee shirt is in the comments!! (:

Friday, July 4th

God Bless America!!

I love the Fourth of July because it's filled with explosions and adventures. This year was probably my favorite one yet!! Here's what I wore:
I am in LOVE with this tank dress from Forever 21. Its on sale for $11.40 right now if you want one too!
My sunglasses are a cutie pair by Zeal, available at zappos.com
I love the crochet on the back of it. Such a great addition!

I got this hat from a thrift shop. The original ribbon is just black, so I added a bow clip to where the real bow is. Worked out perfectly!

I spent the holiday with two of my closest friends, Cody and Zoe. We drove all the way down to the Moapa Valley Indian reservation because setting off the huge illegal fireworks is legal there. It was honestly amazing!! Zoe and I said it was like a DIY Disneyland haha.

Yeah, I totally had an outfit change in the middle of my night hahah. It was soooo windy and my dress kept blowing up! S/O to my mom for suggesting bringing a change of clothes with me lol. Also, I did a Roman Candle but was kinda afraid at the same time haha.

All in all, it was an awesome 4th of July. I'm so thankful to have the wonderful friends that I do. Let me know the highlight of your Fourth in the comments!!

Monday, June 23

All morning at work I thought it was the 22nd for some reason so I was very thrown off for a good chunk of the day. It was a pretty normal day, with no crazy cool event happening at work or at home. Here's what I wore today:
I got a hair trim on Saturday and my hair has never looked so long and healthy! I luv it <3

Caught off-guard (not really)

Back view.

This silk tank top is simply darling to me. It likes to slip off my shoulders and down the front so I kept it still with some double sided tape placed at the top edge of my bra. This was actually a hand-me-down from my best friend's sister and is the first time I've worn it.

My fab Gloria Vanderbilt jeans that I found while thrifting for $5!

So I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans that fit my figure well and I forgot entirely that I had these Vanderbilt beauties hiding away in my closet! Rolled up three times at the bottom, they became those perfect pair of boyfriend-fit jeans that I've been craving. And the light color is perfect for summer. The top happened to look great with it as well and created a very comfy but stylish look paired with cut out oxford-style shoes that I got from Charlotte Russe back in March. I actually opted for no belt today (which is extremely unusual because I almost always wear a belt) but I think it enhanced the comfy boyfriend's clothing look I was going for. I can't handle how much I love the vintage oriental silk tank though! This needs to be worn more often, for sure.

Also I have to give a shout out to my hair lady, Kelly, for making my dead-ended mop turn into a fabulous hair do!

Well, that's all for today. Tell me what your favorite comfy go-to pants are in the comments below!!
